Nigerian Bag Manufacturing Company Limited

Nigerian Bag Manufacturing Company Limited (BAGCO) can look back with pride and fulfillment to 1964 when it was incorporated. Today, it has attained the joint distinction of being the largest woven polypropylene sack manufacturing company in Africa as well as the biggest single plant in the world with an installed capacity of over 200 million sacks per annum.

This has kindled a commitment to a future of unrivalled productivity, excellent quality and sectoral leadership.

The story started in 1972 with the production of the first woven polypropylene sack in Nigeria at BAGCO's Eric Moore Road, Iganmu Industrial Estate, premises. By 1978, the company had fully commenced the production of polypropylene film and bags.

Times have indeed changed. BAGCO's horizon has widened from servicing the need of its parent company, Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, to meeting the demand of corporate customers from different parts of Nigeria, West Africa, Europe and USA.

Nigerian Bag Manufacturing Company Limited or Bagco as it is popularly known, was established in 1972 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc. Operating from two manufacturing plants, one in Lagos and the other in Kano, it is capable of producing 18 million polypropylene plain or laminated sacks a month. Throughout the West and Central African sub-region, the various designs of Bagco Super Sack are appreciated as quality packaging which satisfies both the industrial and the agricultural customers' handling, storage and transportation requirements.
